At the heart of our school is a deep belief in the power of education to create fulfilling futures. We exist to inspire, challenge and nurture every learner, ensuring that each child is known, valued and supported to become the very best version of themselves.

In January 2026, after consulting our whole school community, we launched a new vision for Upwood Primary Academy. Our vision is rooted in ambition, empowerment and community — a shared commitment to shaping confident, capable and compassionate young people who are ready to thrive in an ever‑changing world.

Our values guide everything we do. They influence how we learn, how we treat one another and how we prepare for the future. We believe in high expectations with strong support, where curiosity is celebrated, effort is recognised and resilience is built through challenge. We champion respect, integrity and responsibility, creating a safe and inclusive environment where diversity is embraced and every voice matters.

  • Inspire excellence and achievement through an innovative, relevant, broad and balanced curriculum. 

  • Develop curious and motivated learners who have the self-belief that they have every chance to succeed.

  • Equip children with the knowledge and skills they need to become lifelong learners. 

  • Develop personal skills and values to become responsible citizens now and in the future.

  • Provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment in which everyone is happy and feels valued.

  • Develop a sense of belonging and partnership within our wider community recognising that by working together we can achieve more than we can on our own. 

  • Create an enthusiasm for the world beyond the classroom and show a mutual respect and appreciation for diversity.
