Governance

Upwood Primary Academy is part of the Thomas Deacon Education Trust (TDET).

At the heart of our academy’s governance is a commitment to transparency, accountability, and meaningful stakeholder engagement. Our governance model is designed to ensure robust oversight at every level, from the Trust Members to the Local Advisory Committee (LAC). The Local Advisory Committee (LAC) plays a pivotal role as a bridge between the academy, its community, and the Trust Board.

For more information please visit the TDET Governance Page

Governance is shared between the Trust and the Local Advisory Committee. How these responsibilities are apportioned can be found in the Scheme of Delegation on the TDET website.

The following documents and information can be found on the TDET website.

  • Articles of association
  • Funding agreement
  • Annual audited accounts
  • Annual report
  • Gender pay gap report
  • Register of interests for the accounting officer
  • The number of employees (and payees with off-payroll arrangements) whose gross annual salary and benefits exceed £100,000.

What do I do if I want to get involved?
Committee members are elected for a set period of time, so periodically vacancies do arise.

If you are interested in becoming a Committee member, please contact the academy office:
